This week, as part of our “Mission Control” space topic, the children wrote their own scripts for a play “The First Moon Landing”. This included some fascinating (albeit made-up) dialogue between Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins as they navigated their way to the moon aboard Apollo 11.
Once the scripts were finalised, they added music and dance to their performances to create space-themed-musicals! This included fantastic sound effects and we also heard a few renditions of Sam Ryder’s “Spaceman”! @SamRyderMusic
The children were also excited to see the planet Jupiter up close in the night sky, as it was the closest it had been to Earth since 1963 and was visible with the naked eye. One child decided to take photos and you can actually see the planet in the sky!
